Kate Middleton revealed today that she has completed chemotherapy. She said she will undertake a “light program” of public engagements within the next few months.
Kate Middleton Told The World Of Her Cancer Diagnosis In March
Kate Middleton made a couple of public appearances this summer. Her epic balcony appearance at Trooping the Color in June was awe-inspiring. It was the first time she had attended a royal event since Christmas.
Even though she was the center of attention, the Princess let her father-in-law, King Charles, have his glory. Trooping the Color is the official royal birthday of the ruling monarch.
Kate and her husband, Prince William, appeared on the balcony with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. She also appeared at Wimbledon to present Carlos Alcaraz with the winning trophy after the men’s finals.
The Princess of Wales first told the world of her cancer diagnosis in March, as she bravely shared how her cancer was detected after she underwent an abdominal surgical procedure in January.
Over the next two months, rumors circulated about why Kate was no longer seen in public. Everyone was concerned about her health.
Kate had to contend with social media’s cruelty and nastiness after she posted a doctored Mother’s Day photo with her and her children.
She was merely expressing her creativity and love of photography, but news outlets issued a kill notice for the photo.
By then, people were calling the search for the Princess “Kategate.” Fans and the press hounded her until she felt she had to reveal her diagnosis.
On September 9, she shared a personal message with the world. “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus,” she said. She admitted that the last nine months have been a “scary and unpredictable” time for her family.
The Princess Sent A Message To Those Affected By Cancer
Kate’s personal message was accompanied by a video of her, William, and their children in Norfolk last month. The video is a voiceover containing an exquisite montage that illustrates how Kate’s family has given her strength and peace.
It also demonstrates how doing things that bring you joy, like spending time in the fresh air outdoors, can help.
“Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face-to-face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
Everyone’s kindness also touches Kate since she announced her diagnosis.
Princess Catherine explained that the ordeal had reminded her and William to
“Reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”
Kate also sent a comforting and moving message to those affected by cancer.
“I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
