Many experts believe Meghan Markle is the perpetrator in Prince Harry and Prince William’s feud. The royal brothers were in a good place prior to Harry and Meghan’s romance.
Harry Used To Think Of William As “The Perfect Brother”
When William and Kate Middleton were married in April 2011, Harry is said to have gushed over the happy couple during a lively toast at the wedding, calling William “the perfect brother” and saying he loved Kate “like a sister.” The three of them were initially very close and were always seen together.
That all started to change after Harry met Meghan in July 2016. As their relationship developed, William was worried his brother was getting too serious too quickly.
Harry and Meghan walked down the aisle in May 2018, but the trouble started long before that. When Harry and Meghan were invited to William and Kate’s apartment, Meghan was taken aback at how lavishly the Wales lived. The Sussexes were living at Nottingham Cottage, and their humble abode was modest compared to the Wales’s superior accommodations.
Meghan saw that the Prince and Princess of Wales lived in a 20-room house in Kensington Palace’s main building.
She thought Harry deserved better. It was the start of some serious tension between the two brothers. William and Kate saw the way Meghan acted as if she had the right to demand more.
She expected more when she entered the royal family, disregarding William’s place in line to the throne and assuming that just because Harry was Charles’s son, he would receive the same treatment as William.
The “Fab Four’s” First Appearance Together Was their Last
When William, Catherine, Harry, and Meghan Markle had their first royal appearance together, it would be their last. It was at the Royal Foundation Forum in London. Kate started to discuss mental health, a cause she was championing.
Meghan decided to take the panel in an uncomfortable direction. She talked about her cause, which we all know is feminism. It wasn’t the reason they were all there, and it made Kate feel slighted, as William could be seen shifting in his seat.
The “Fab Four” played it off well, but it was the beginning of the end for them as a team. Imagine how uncomfortable the ride home was.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and left the UK. Harry cited his inability to protect his wife from the British tabloids, but royal insiders have a different story.
Meghan couldn’t accept that William and Kate were a bigger deal than she and Harry, as William was the future King. She also didn’t like how she was often compared unfavorably to Kate.
Oprah interviewed the Sussexes in March 2021, and Meghan accused the royal family of racism, claiming that when she was pregnant with Archie, there had been “conversations” and “concerns” about how dark Archie’s skin would be.
William responded to the tabloids and the media through clenched teeth. “WE are not a racist family,” he said.
“Spare” Was The Final Straw For William
Harry’s tell-all memoir, “Spare,” detailed an altercation between himself and William that turned physical. The argument was about Meghan. According to Harry, William shoved him into the dog’s bowl, leaving cuts all over his body.
William has never responded to the accusation, but he was very hurt over “Spare.” Harry’s accounts of his family were vile, and William hasn’t spoken to his brother since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
Since then, Meghan has continued to try to outshine the royals. Kate, who was diagnosed with cancer and has been recovering, made her first public appearance since Christmas this past June at Trooping the Color.
On the same day, Meghan announced her new raspberry jam and dog biscuits as part of her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Over and Over, Harry has chosen Meghan over his own family. That’s why William doesn’t want to speak to Harry.
The Duke threw the royals under the bus so that he and Meghan would live as they are accustomed to in Montecito, California. There may be no coming back from that.
