‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Writers Penned An Unexpected Twist
Before Steve Burton ever made his grand re-entrance on the GH canvas, it was predicted that he could be the mysterious shooter gunning for Sonny on his private island in Puerto Rico.
We had assumed that GH was going to have a brainwashed Jason try to kill Sonny, seeing how the name of “Stone” was thought to be short for “Stone Cold,” Damian Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) nickname for Jason.
Also, whoever shot at Sonny in Puerto Rico had to have had an intimate knowledge of the island and know how to get around his security.
It had to be Jason who was gunning for the godfather, right? The details of Jason’s return were also top secret. Maybe a brainwashed Jason was against Sonny now. But the story has an unexpected twist.
It turns out that while Jason may be “working for” whatever organization is targeting mob bosses, he also plays an instrumental role in keeping Sonny and his family safe.
It was evident that this was the case when, after the sniper, Hamish (Chris Gann) shot Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), Jason killed Hamish and helped Sonny’s son by applying pressure to the wound, elevating his feet, and calling 911.
Not to mention, the Metro Court shooter left his gun behind, and when Hamish fired at Sonny and “missed,” Jason instructed him to leave the rifle behind. Jason purposefully made the sniper miss, and Jason is an expert shooter.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason May Be Working For John Brennan
If Jason wanted Sonny dead, he would have been dead by now. The question remains: who is Jason pretending to work for?
Jason may be working for John Brennan (Charles Mesure) and the WSB in some crooked operation to murder mob bosses.
We still don’t know much about Brennan or his motivations. We only know he was the head of the Pikeman Security Group and the WSB.
The gun that was left after the Metro Court shooting occurred was related to the gun found at Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) apartment.
Ava is the mother of Sonny’s child. If someone wanted to get to Sonny, threatening one of Sonny’s baby mamas would be an effective way.
The firearm was also related to a string of shootings. This gun was part of a group of weapons “stolen” from the WSB. And all roads lead back to Sonny.
Jason could be working for Brennan. He could have been held prisoner on Cassadine Island after a tunnel collapsed on top of him.
Someone had to have found him and helped him recover. Maybe Jason escaped and has been unwillingly working under someone’s orders to take down Sonny.
Whatever the case, Jason does not want to harm Sonny. The only thing that makes the puzzle fit together is if Jason is now a double agent pretending to want Sonny dead. Just wait until Sonny and Jason come face to face. Jason will have a lot of explaining to do.
