‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have enjoyed the Clyde Weston (James Read) storyline to a point, but there have been so many head scratching moments we’re surprised we haven’t developed a facial tick.

Since moving to Peacock, the show’s continuity has been flawed at the best of times as hints for storylines and angles are dropped without another word and characters do some of the strangest things.

Granted, we don’t expect anyone in Salem to be normal since the town was originally built around a mental hospital and there’s obviously something in the water, but sometimes we just have to shake our heads and wonder.

We love watching Stefan DiMera (Bandon Barish) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) work, but we’re more than a little confused as to how they allowed things to get this far and it falls into the lap of the writers — replacement and regular writers.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Ava finally calls her family

It was only a month or so ago where Ava told Stefan she was calling her family to take care of Clyde.

In fact, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers believe they ended their scenes in that episode with her saying she was willing to pay whatever price they wanted.

But nothing happened. She never called them and there wasn’t a mention of them again until Clyde wanted to be sprung from prison.

Sure, we get that it would’ve ended the storyline “too early” but it doesn’t mean it had to end. The writers could’ve worked it so that the Vitalis were working with Clyde or had some reason to refuse to help Ava.

But nothing was mentioned to tie up that loose end and the story went on.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Stefan should’ve turned on EJ

As for Stefan, how can the son of two of the greatest criminal families in Salem’s history be so inept? Granted, we understand that he’s not the cold hearted killer in the family.

That’s EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel), and when he went to EJ and he refused to help him, Stefan should’ve tried to work out a deal with him to make sure he and Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) were protected.

If that failed, he could’ve gone to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) with the information and let him make a few calls to either force EJ to offer a deal of find another way.

Or Stefan could’ve hired someone to take Clyde out himself instead of asking mommy and then his brother.

This was a failing on several levels and it seems to come down to the creative decisions for the show and the writers executing the plan.

Did this storyline fall flat or is it redeemable in some way? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
