There’s a lot going on in Port Charles recently, and ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers expect more to be coming now that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has a name of the person allegedly trying to take him out.
On the plus side, it’s someone that there’s no love lost between them, but unfortunately, John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam J. Harrington) shares a complicated history with Sonny.
Thanks to Selina Wu (Lydia Look) giving Sonny a shot at her “traitor”, Sonny was given the name Stone and that implicates Cates as the threat, as does his actions with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna.
But we think it’s all smoke and mirrors and the “traitor” was a plant by Selina.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – It’s too obvious
If there’s one thing ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers can sniff out it’s when something is too good to be true, and having Cates served up on a platter like this has that feeling.
With news from Soap Opera Network, Adam Harrington is under contract with the show, so it’s unlikely he’s been brought in for such a quick in and out storyline as he’s likely to stick around for a long time.
Granted, this could be the start of a long storyline that’s already been dragged out, and while the show had a history of doing that, they’ve gotten better with their pacing the last few months.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Selina wants to take over
What really caught our attention was that Sonny got the information with only a threat to Selina’s prisoner, and that seems unlikely since Sonny should suspect the man gave it up way too easy.
Plus, Selina looked too pleased at Sonny getting the information. We also find it hard to believe she was unable to get the information needed when she loaned Sonny the knife man to torture Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) way back when.
And her prisoner didn’t look all that roughed up. If Sonny takes out a federal agent, then he’s in deep legal trouble and his territory will be ripe to be taken.
Then there’s Cates himself, and while it looks like he’s hiding something, we get the feeling there’s something a lot larger he’s not at liberty to share with Anna, and her and Dante are putting the real investigation in danger.
Especially since Anna and Dante are intent on finding out what’s happening, but more so in doing so before Cates so they can solve it in their backyard.
Things are going to get interesting, and we’re looking forward to seeing who is really after Sonny.
