Prince Harry and Meghan Markle adopted Ellen DeGeneres’ rescue chicken named Sinkie. The poor bird was bullied at Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi’s chicken coop, at their Montecito home.

Luckily, their neighbors, Harry and Meghan, had room in their chicken coop, better known as Archie’s Chicken Inn. The former talk show host and animal lover had kept her fans updated about Sinkie.

    A Royal Title for Sinkie

Sinkie suffered a leg injury before Christmas, and Ellen nursed her back to health. However, Sinkie was being bullied by the other chickens. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are considering a royal title for their new feathered friend.

    Ellens Chicken Sinkie

Ellen and Portia named the bird Sinke because she loved to reside at an old stone sink in DeGeneres’ garden. Technically, Ellen’s good pal, Steve Carrell, who starred in “The Office,” named Sinkie.

DeGeneres said this of the name,

“I know it’s a stupid name. You can blame Steve Carrell for that; he named her.”

Ellen also explained the reason for rehoming,

“Sinkie’s leg is fixed, but our chickens are still picking on her, so she had to be rehomed.“

Some fans suggested some royal titles for Sinkie, like

“Lady Sinkington,” “Lady Featherignton,” “Lady Sinkie of Sussex,” and “Duchess of Susseggs.”

Harry and Meghan do not have the best reputations, certainly not with fans of the royal family. Say what you will about them, but they love to rescue animals. They rescued all their chickens from a factory farm in California. The sign on the chicken coop wall reads,

“Archie’s Chicken Inn, established in 2021.”

Harry and Meghan also rescued their dog, a Beagle named Mamma Mia, who was rescued from a facility that specifically bred Beagles for biomedical research. They have another sweet Beagle named Guy and a Black Lab named Pula.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Known for Their Love of Pet Rescue

Meghan talked about their love of rescuing when Oprah interviewed The Sussexes in March 2021. During the interview,  Oprah, Harry, and Meghan were seen feeding one of their rescue birds.

Many fans of Harry and Meghan fell in love with their chicken coop. Fans of the Sussexes took to Instagram to congratulate them on their new family member.

One fan good-naturedly ribbed Harry and Meghan,

“They aren’t allowed to use their HRH, and the kids were firmly not given HRH, but hilarious if the chicken were styled as such.”

    Someone said,

    “Lovely new home, lucky hen.”

Another person posted on social media, “Never prouder of Harry and Meghan.” Of course, there were also nasty remarks about the Sussexes.

    One of the comments read,

“Ellen, why are you hanging out with these people? I’m sure you see the news where their lies are debunked, too. The fact that people still interact with them after everything that’s come to light is mind-blowing.”

    Another remark was,

“How bout Duchess of delusions and jealous of Catharine, Princess of Wales? You like that, Ellen?”

    Another one was,

“How much did Meghan pay for this sort of positive press?”

While Harry and Meghan may not be popular, they have one thing going for them: they seem willing to welcome pets into their home without hesitation. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle love animals
