‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that it doesn’t look like Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) is going to be backing down from pursuing Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) even though he had previously been linked to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). She is doing everything she seemingly can to interfere with what they have so she can get what she wants.
Chance is not innocent in the matter, as he should be more concerned about what he’s doing, but, we can’t turn an eye away from how Summer has inserted herself into the situation after her divorce from Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). The more she pursues Chance, the more we see her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) in her.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree, Just Like Her Mother
While she seemed to have everything together while she was married to Kyle, we feel like we’ve been seeing a different side of Summer in the last few months. One that is more closely related to her mother. Phyllis has always been a wrecking ball and someone who is not afraid of confrontation. It seems that Summer is playing this up more lately and showing shades of her mother in her attitude with Sharon.
While we’re not completely upset about the situation as Sharon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) could end up back together which is something we think everyone wants to see, it’s still been interesting to see the shift in Summer’s behavior and how she is acting more like her mother.
This love triangle could lead to some interesting storylines involving Chance, Sharon, Summer and Nick. However, it’s unlikely that the writers will actually have anything of value and we’ll just get a boring back and forth relationship out of it. It feels so strange that a Sharon and Summer (a woman who could be her daughter) are fighting over the same man. Chance needs to take a stand and actually say something about what’s going on instead of playing the field like he has.
What do you think? Will Chance end up with either of these women or will they both break it off? Let us know in the comments below.
