‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers document that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) is determined to honor his father’s wish. He, along with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), know the truth but have reluctantly agreed to pretend otherwise.
Eric Forrester (John McCook) believes he has kept news of his terminal condition from Ridge. He specifically ordered Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman), and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) not to tell Ridge or Brooke that he is expected to die within months. While they did not purposely break that oath, their ability to maintain Eric’s wish was not feasible.

Donna and Eric love each other. They were married in the past and got back together months before this terrible diagnosis.
Asking her not to tell anyone that he is expected to die was too much. Eric asked the same of RJ, who he only allowed into the inner circle because of the Fashion Challenge.
While privacy rights deserve their due, Eric is not thinking clearly. He put Donna, RJ, and later Katie Logan (Heather Tom) into unnecessarily bad spots. Of course, Katie only came to learn what was happening because she overheard a conversation about Eric’s condition at the Forrester mansion. She was sworn to secrecy as well.

Maintaining the semblance of ignorance has not been easy. But Ridge, Brooke, and Steffy have convinced Eric that they are unaware of his condition.
This is a part of the plot that stretches suspension of disbelief. Eric is in an extended, highly emotional state and is, therefore, super sensitive to every nuance of Donna’s, RJ’s, and Katie’s evidence.
Having Eric unable to detect that Ridge, Brooke, or Steffy knows he is dying is not believable in the long term. It is possible that the Fashion Challenge served as a distraction, but that is over, and some time has passed.
‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers – Eric Forrester Maintains His Cover Until The End?
At some point, it would seem Eric will collapse from exhaustion based on how hard he has been pushing himself while in a weakened state. But if that does not happen, he will eventually require bed rest, if not hospitalization.
The party Eric wants to have projects as the next flashpoint moment. The imminent returns of Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) and Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) give credence to increasing concerns fans of McCook likely have.
It could be that TPTB are writing Eric to his end. Whatever his illness, which will hopefully be detailed sooner rather than later, the long-time leading man of this great soap opera might be nearing the voluntary end of his enduring career on B&B.
