‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggests that we still just can’t be sure what is going on in Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) brain. Is he dealing with some kind of physical malady or is he just subjecting his children to some very intense loyalty test?
Just when we think we know which it is, something else quirky happens and we are left not feeling 100% sure. What do you think?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Family Business
Victor isn’t quite certain his children are trustworthy. At least this is what he is explaining to Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas). He thinks that one of them has plan to take over Newman Enterprises from him and he going to see who acts first.
It’s hard to say where this idea came from, since things seemed to be going well at Newman. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was in charge. Nikki was the co-COO with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Victoria’s boyfriend, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) was the CEO of Newman Media with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) as his second in command.
When Nick experienced some family challenges, Victoria told him to step out for a while and she put Nate in his place. She moved Audra to the CEO position at Newman Media.
Victor seemed quite pleased with how things were running at Newman Enterprises. He had given Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) his acquisition of McCall Unlimited to run but was upset to learn that Adam was going to try to take over Newman Media with his company. He ended up giving Adam the boot.

But then Victor suddenly made sweeping changes. He moved Nikki to CEO of Newman Media, demoting Audra to be her COO. Then he demoted Victoria to the COO position and took over the top role himself.
He’s made some rash decisions and some distressing statements. Victoria and Nick really think that something is wrong with his mind. When they have asked about it, he either has no memory of it (he says) or denies it. When he is with Nikki, he tells her that one of them is after his company and he is putting a plan into action to discover who it is.

He tells Adam he doesn’t trust Victoria and Nate. Adam promises to be by his side through anything and everything. Victor tells Nikki that he expects one of his children to make a move against him soon. But is he really “okay”?
In Victor’s office, Adam finds a notepad. On it, Victor has drawn the outline of a snake and the snake’s body is made of the repeating names, “Victoria-Adam-Nicholas.” When Adam sees it, he feels like maybe the great Victor Newman is unhinged. What do you think?
