During Season 3 of the TLC hit show, My 600-Lb Life, Joe Wexler had a lot of setbacks when he began his weight loss journey. When he sought Dr. Now’s help, he weighed in at 777 pounds and he was very open about all of the struggles that he had with food.

His food addiction began because he wasn’t getting enough attention from his father. This lack of attention caused him to alienate himself from his friends and family. Of course, they were all very worried about him and he knew that he needed to get help and lose weight before it was too late.

When it came to losing weight, Joe was incredibly determined, which viewers don’t see very often on the show. He moved from Tennessee to Houston to be able to get through Dr. Now’s program. Although he was ready to change his life, things didn’t start out so well when he began working with Dr. Now.

When he started the program, he was ready to follow the diet and exercise. He got very defeated when he gained 15 pounds at the beginning instead of losing weight. Even though all he wanted to do was give up, he didn’t let these set backs stop him.

During a very special episode of My 600-Lb Life, TLC brought Joe back and he told viewers that he had lost 418 pounds since appearing on the show. He had skin removal surgery and had started going to the gym everyday. He was still very motivated to lose more weight and follow through with Dr. Now’s plan.

Joe’s love life was a big issue on the show as well. He ended up meeting a woman named Sarah in a weight loss awareness group. They ended up getting married, but sadly divorced after three years of marriage. He made claims that she was unfaithful to him and that was why he ended up leaving her.

This wasn’t the end of love for him though. He reunited with a friend that he had known for over a decade. They hit it off very well and got married and he adopted her daughter. This marriage seemed wonderful for him and he had yet another setback though.

In 2022, Joe’s mother passed away and that devastated him. He just knew that he had to continue to stay strong though. From what he has shared on social media, he is working full-time and going to school.

He is always very thankful to his fans and constantly tells them that. He is 31 years old now and is trying to build a house for his family.

Joe seems incredibly happy these days and his fans are happy that he has gotten his life in order.
