Alex Murdaugh, currently serving two life sentences in prison for the murders of his wife and son, seems to be making the most of his time behind bars by taking selfies. These leaked photos show Murdaugh capturing moments from his prison cell, some of which feature him shirtless.
It appears he is using a smart tablet, a privilege granted to inmates in protective custody at the South Carolina maximum security facility where he is housed.
The images, obtained by the YouTube account Phone Calls from Prison, reveal a range of cringe-worthy selfies.
Some show Murdaugh topless, baring his chest, while others depict him making peculiar facial expressions while lying down. These photos provide a glimpse into his current circumstances, showcasing his small cell adorned with homemade decorations.
“Over 30 new photos of Alex Murdaugh while in prison from June of 2023. These were received by me from the South Carolina Dept. of Corrections through The Freedom of Information Act. *To answer where these photos came from- A photo is taken each time Alex logs onto his tablet.”

Surprisingly, Murdaugh appears relatively comfortable in his prison environment. However, his cozy situation does not change the fact that he will remain incarcerated for the foreseeable future due to his conviction for the double murder.
Furthermore, he faces additional legal trouble, this time related to financial crimes. It also appears that his relationship with his surviving son has deteriorated.
We previously reported that he called his son in what turned out to be an awkward 40-second phone call where Alex Murdaugh was given the cold shoulder and hung up on. It seems that he has been having plenty of conversations in prison though, and seems to be enjoying himself.
