TLC 'Counting On' Spoilers: Joy-Anna & Austin Being Sued for Fraud

On TLC’s hit show ‘Counting On’, we have seen the struggles and daily lives of the Duggars. Recently, we saw a big struggle. Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth are being charged with some pretty terrible things. Austin is being sued for fraud! We have the inside scoop on what is going on with these two.

TLC ‘Counting On’ Spoilers: Lawsuits & Problems

No one wants a lawsuit on their hands, but when you do bad things, you may have to face one in your life. This is what Joy-Anna and Austin are realizing now. On October 11, a couple filed a lawsuit against Austin for fraud. This couple had been part of the home buying process for a home that he renovated and flipped. What could possibly go wrong there? Quite a bit apparently.

The lawsuit stated that Austin had lied about getting a legal permit for the septic tank on the property. The couple purchased the home in June 2018, so it seems that it took them a while to file the suit. What made them finally realize that they had a problem was that they “began to notice that their yard was saturated on the driest of days and that an unmistakable foul odor of human waste emanated from their yard”. The couple then hired a professional to investigate what was going on. He soon discovered that the land was not suitable for the type of septic system that Austin had installed! The couple also learned that in order to have the right septic system installed, it would cost them $20,000!

When reading the lawsuit, it does say that the county requires that the septic system have permits from the health department. Clearly, Austin lied about this and the couple was outraged! After checking in with the health department, there is no proof at all that he got the legal permits for the septic system. Austin has completely denied that any of this is true and says the permits are there, but they are being overlooked.

On November 19, Austin responded to the suit. He is still denying these allegations and then said he was “not required to obtain a permit”. This seems a bit odd since he told the couple already that he had gotten the permit. Things seem a little off with this case so far. What do you think? It seems that a lot of the Duggars may be facing court and legal cases this year, but we will keep you posted as we get more information on them all. In the meantime, you can watch the Duggars on Counting On on TLC on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
