In the years that 90 Day Fiancé has been on the air, we have never seen a couple featuring a hearing-impaired partner. David has been communicating with Shelia solely through texting and he has fallen in love with her. He is ready to travel to the Philippines to meet her. They met in a Facebook group for hearing-impaired singles.

When he opens up to the cameras, he tells them, “I’ve lived in Omaha on my own for a long time now. I want to start a family and have a wife. I was open to dating a hearing, deaf, or hard-of-hearing person. I was putting myself out there consistently and getting a lot of ‘no’s’. It hurt my feelings because I wanted a relationship.”
Shelia is 31 and lives in Cebu, Philippines. When she was born, she could hear, but she had problems with her ears as a child. She uses hearing aids now and she is still learning ASL. David cannot read lips or even speak, so this is going to be complicated. She has a 12-year-old son as well.
David told the cameras, “Shelia is better than any woman I’ve dated because she is a sweet person. She is the perfect match to me. I’ll love Shelia forever. I will have a family with Shelia in the future.”
David hasn’t been lucky in love. He fell for a deaf woman and they were madly in love. She ended up cheating on him and that broke his heart and changed his world forever.
David is so happy with Shelia and is ready to meet her and get to know her son more and finally figure out if she is the one for him. We will see more of their love story on the new season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The new season begins on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on TLC. Fans can also stream it on Discovery+.
