It was disclosed that the legal dispute between Prince Harry and the Home Office about law enforcement security in the UK has already cost British taxpayers about £300,000.
Prince Harry’s Security Worries Are Selfish-‘He’s Just Greedy,’ Says Angela Levin
Approximately one and a half years ago, the Duke of Sussex submitted a legal case due to the withdrawal of his security protection after he resigned from his official duties as a royal in 2020.
The reason for this decision was that the prince was no longer eligible to have the special privileges and remuneration that comes with the HRH distinction. He put forth the idea of paying for private police protection, yet he was informed that this was not a feasible option and that British police forces could not be hired.
This event has cost the UK Government a total of £296,882, as revealed by the Freedom of Information Act. That did not sit very well with everyone, as royal expert Angela Levin had a lot to say about the matter.
In her comments, she said: “He’s got tremendous protection. He’s just greedy. And he likes going to court because it keeps him in the spotlight. He feels he is no longer as grand as he once was; and he’s not. He’s got to realise that.”
This has been a divisive issue since Harry has admitted that he does have fears over visiting the UK on the basis that he does not feel safe when it comes to his family. And yet, that did not win him any sympathy since others felt that the UK was a whole lot safer compared to where Harry was living.
Reporter, Julia Hartley, had this to say: “Anyone who is concerned about security doesn’t move to California! Britain is far safer than America.” This issue needs to be addressed, so that all sides can move on.
