Prince Harry’s admission of killing 25 Taliban members may qualify him for more security.

The Duke of Sussex controversially made those statements in his memoir, Spare. During the course of that process, he likened to the deaths as though they were chess pieces.

This received a lot of backlash on the basis that Harry had endangered British troops serving in the army overseas. Not only that, but reports also indicated that the Invictus Games may now be targeted by terrorist threats.

Bruce Riedel, who happens to be a counter terrorism officer, stated that the Duke may be entitled to more security from the US. In his comments, he said: “Harry can make a case for security protection as a distinguished foreign guest.

“Some ambassadors are given special protection. It would help if the British government weighed in. He has taken a risk in his statement about killing 25 Taliban but it is not a big risk.”

Harry, for his part, had been in Afghanistan during two separate missions. But his time there has been tarnished due to the response that the Afghan nation has given. It is alleged that some protests broke out in Helmand province, which resulted in numerous people branding posters that had Harry’s face on it next to a red cross.

Not only that, but it is claimed that the Taliban referred to the Duke as a ‘big mouth loser’ in response. With that being said, there is always a risk even if it is small. Bruce added: “In twenty years of war with America they never operated in the US. An angry Afghan American acting on his own might be a threat.”

The fans on social media had no sympathy for Harry. Large numbers of people made it clear that he had no one to blame but himself. One person wrote: “Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut. There are certain things you don’t talk about and his book seems to have covered it all.”
