The Bachelor series has recently been subject to criticism, particularly concerning the clothing worn by the contestants.

People have said that the garments were cheap-looking and old-fashioned. Instagram user DutchMinty posted a pic of the women wearing ostentatious dresses and compared them to what would be seen at a high school.

In the picture here, we can see a variety of the female contestants lined up, as they search for their dream man. The post was captioned by the following comments: “Bachelor(s) 2023… What in the 2013 Year 12 formal is this?”

Jed McIntosh, a lead, was also targeted when somebody posted a picture of him wearing black leather and lace and referred to him as the “Aldi Billy Idol”. Much in the same way, the host, Osher Günsberg, gave out engagement rings to Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh, and Thomas Malucelli as a potential way of proposing to their dream woman at the conclusion of the episode.

Nevertheless, the viewers’ response to the rings were not positive. With that being said, it was not surprising to see that the fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. Large numbers of people began to blast the costume department for making the contestants come across as tacky.

Meanwhile, others began to mock the contestants with some brutal comments. One person wrote: “I hope twenty-somethings look back on their 2022 fashion choices in 10 years with the same level of bewilderment and revulsion that all of us elder millennials do about the 2000s.”

While another person stated: “Every single dress here is a crime. This is like a fashion police line-up.” The contestants have yet to respond to this which is understandable due to the negative media scrutiny that may emerge. But based on what we have seen so far, the damage has been done.
