King Charles III’s charity organization will persist with ideas for an extensive real estate endeavor in Bahrain, despite concerns over the country’s human rights record.
King Charles III Slammed After His Charity Pushes Ahead With Property Plans In Bahrain Despite Concerns Over The Country’s Human Rights Record-‘This Idiot Was Taking Suitcases Full Of Cash From Dodgy Qatari Businessmen’
The King’s Foundation is searching for an urban design aide to give assistance with its new residential area undertaking in Bahrain. An announcement for the employment shows that the fruitful candidate, who could procure a compensation of up to £29,000, will help to create foundation plans.
Human rights activists have continually censured Bahrain for its use of force in quelling pro-democracy rallies. Last November, citizens of Bahrain took part in elections for the lower house of parliament in relation to King Hamad, yet no opposition candidates were allowed to compete.
Amnesty International was of the opinion that the elections would take place in a climate of ‘political oppression’. Despite this, Charles has kept up friendly ties with the nation’s leaders, including inviting King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Buckingham Palace in September.
The British King encountered the same kind of negative reaction when it first became known that his organization for architecture had agreed to give guidance to Bahrain on a project for 4,000 homes in 2013.
And yet, the website of the Crown Prince of Bahrain declares that the King’s charitable organization has been assigned a consultative part in the construction of residential projects in the Gulf country: “The Prince’s foundation has overseen large-scale housing projects in the UK.
“[It] is currently advising on homes in Bahrain’s southern governorate and other development projects across different parts of the Kingdom.” The response on social media was one of outrage.
Large numbers of people made it clear that this was not making the firm come across in a positive way. One person wrote: “Business as usual for Charlie, he loves free cash. It’s not so long ago this idiot was taking suitcases full of cash from dodgy Qatari businessmen.”
