Fans who blasted James Cameron for not signing autographs were captured on camera flipping the bird. After the legendary director attended a screening of his latest film, “Avatar: The Way of Water,” in Los Angeles Saturday, he declined to stop for a swarm of autograph-seeking fans at the WGA office.
Cameron, 68, sped by a swarm of people wanting him to sign their stuff, prompting the crowd to turn on him and yell. “F–k ‘Avatar,’” one person yelled, as Cameron was escorted into a black car. As the jeers continued, the “Titanic” director slid down his tinted window, revealing his middle finger. The exchange divided fans, with some labeling him a “jerk” and “annoying.” Others branded him “a legend,” claiming that those booing him were not true supporters.

‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ Director James Cameron Flips Off Fans After Refusing To Give Autographs
“They were fake fans ready to resell autographed stuff 100%. The embarrassing way they reacted to his refusal proves that. Jim was right for ignoring them let’s be serious,” one person wrote on Twitter. Cameron recently claimed that the inspiration for his long-awaited “Avatar” sequel came from his own hardships.
Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter, “I thought, ‘I’m going to work out a lot of my stuff, artistically, that I’ve gone through as a parent of five kids.'”
Suzy Amis Cameron, Cameron’s current companion, is his fifth wife. The couple has three teenage daughters and plans to adopt a fourth in 2020. With his ex-wife, Linda Hamilton, he also has a 29-year-old daughter. His latest film, which cost more than $350 million to produce, is the highly anticipated sequel to the original “Avatar,” which was released in 2009.
