This year, it appears that Prince William and Prince Harry will not be exchanging presents during the holiday season due to the current strain in their relationship that has been exacerbated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent documentary on Netflix.
William And Harry Will Not Be Sending Each Other Christmas Gifts
A friend of the Prince of Wales has confirmed that he is certain the Prince will not be viewing the contentious show. Reportedly, Harry had been anticipating that both his brother and father, King Charles III, would observe the series to have a clearer understanding of the challenges he and Meghan Markle have dealt with.
Even though the tension between the two sets of families has been intensified due to the documentary, Kate Middleton and William will still be sending gifts to Archie and Lilibet. Much in the same way, Harry and Meghan have reportedly sent presents to their nieces and nephews.
In addition, the Sussexes apparently turned down an opportunity to spend Christmas with the firm. This would have been a massive step in showing the public that there was some unity following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
However, given the release of the docuseries, coupled with the fact that Harry’s memoir Spare is set to come out in the New Year, a festive holiday together was always going to be unlikely.
And yet, Sarah Ferguson is allegedly set to spend the first Christmas with the firm in nearly 30 years which will be a kick in the teeth for the Sussexes. The fans on social media lamented at what had happened.
A significant proportion of people were of the view that the children were being punished due to a rift with the brothers since all the children would not be able to mingle. One person wrote: “So sad, the kids will never be close to their cousins and might not even meet them.
“William and Harry, as dysfunctional as their family was, still had lots of extended family they were close to. Kate has a close relationship with her siblings.”
