Lots of parents pass down their old clothing to their children, but apparently Kanye West is not well acquainted with this practice because former wife Kim Kardashian West has to end up buying one of Kanye’s old jackets for their daughter, North. It was the Pastelle Jacket that he wore at the 2008 American Music Awards.
You would think that this would be easy to find among Kanye’s old things but according to Kim that is not so. She says that Kanye has a tendency to not really care about his things, and tends to end up giving it away to people. Since Kanye is who he is, this means that there is a surefire way that these things will end up online in the second hand market.

You would think that by now, four kids into this, that Kanye would realize that his kids might want to keep mementos of him around and start saving things from his old shows or at least things from his every day life that his kids might want to keep around that would remind them of him.
But even now, one rocky relationship and four kids later, it hasn’t occurred to Kanye that his kids might want to keep his things. He’s still getting rid of his stuff right and left as if it were still 2008, pre -Kim and pre-kids.
So that is the reason why, when little North wanted her Dad’s jacket, instead of asking her Dad to look in his closet for her, Mom had to go online and buy the jacket for her from someone Kanye had previously given it to.
Now, granted, this jacket was worn a good five years before North was even born, but Kim says that when it comes to Kanye’s belongings that she is the one who often has to preserve them for the kids because Kanye simply won’t.
Some people do this because they themselves can’t stand the idea of hand me downs, but it’s quite different when coming from a parent when you want to preserve said memory. At least little North got the jacket, that’s about all we can say. Stay tuned!
