On Real Girlfriends in Paris you couldn’t help but feel for Anya Firestone. In spite of the image that she portrays on the show, she says that she actually has a lifestyle she can’t really afford, both her and her fiance, Matthieu, are in the same boat financially.
She says that launching her business is harder in Paris than it would be in the US and that maybe she hasn’t always made the best financial decisions, but she says that simply cannot do something that she is not interested in because she is too passionate a person. Us artistic types can certainly relate to that statement.
Anya Firestone and the burial of a life of a young woman
The girlfriends all got together for the Cannes film festival but turned the excursion into something of a bachelor party for Anya, which was totally nice of them. In France, they refer to a bachelorette party as “burial of the life of a young woman” and judging from how hungover they all were we could all see why. This week they were all getting ready for an event and you know what that means – shopping!
Anya had her eye on a pink coat that she was going to wear to the event and one of the girls was going to buy it for her and essentially “share custody” of the item but that deal ended up falling through on the end when Anya mentioned that she really shouldn’t be shopping and therefore could not contribute anything to the price… uh-oh. Close but no cigar, or in this case, designer coat.
At one point Anya stepped through a crack in the wood at that magnificent house they were staying at and got her heel stuck.
One of the girls decided to audition for “maid of honor” by calling Anya “Cinderella” and getting her heel unstuck, flattery will get you everywhere, it seems. You know, there is a different vibe about the Paris Girls than most reality TV stars, and it’s charming because they seem to have an actual friend dynamic, not just something thrown together by producers and it creates a show that, in all honesty, is a lot easier to watch. Even their disagreements aren’t all that bad – but it’s early in the season yet. Stay tuned!!!
