Timing is everything and in this case, it’s really, really bad. Lara Trump has managed to piss off the internet after she posted a video of her making her son go outside in the rain before Hurricane Ian. Here’s what you need to know.
The 39-year-old TV producer, who lives in Florida with her husband Eric Trump, shared the video to her Instagram on Wednesday of the couple’s son Eric Luke Trump. Trump and her spouse also share their three-year-old daughter Carolina Dorothy Trump. In the video, Trump’s son is seen driving a children’s car on a residential street being pelted with rain. He appears to be trying to shield his eyes from the heavy precipitation, and is heard telling his mother: “I can’t do it.”
The Internet Attacks Lara Trump For Making Her Son Go Outside In The Rain Before Hurricane Ian
She shared the video on Instagram Wednesday with the caption: “Thought we had a clear window, turns out we did some character building instead.”
The video immediately garnered criticism online, with some questioning why she’d record a video of her child in discomfort and post it online for laughs. Some comments have included, “Using your crying young child who clearly doesn’t want to be a part of your narcissistic attention-seeking rain in a hurricane video-is SO classy #LaraTrump,” along with, “#LaraTrump is mentally ill. We remember her first video when her daughter was crying uncontrollably while she was drinking. This is worse, and so sad. Where are the other grandparents, other relatives? We know Trump and Melanie don’t care. Someone call CPS.”
Another fan wrote, “So the #LaraTrump thing… yeah it’s just rain. Not necessarily a big deal. Kid got wet. I’m not a parent but I think what’s disturbing is that she’s laughing at her kid crying, personally.”
