Things are going to get interesting in Genoa City as we dive into a new week, and CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers are ready to see how mishandled things are going to be.
It looks like our prediction about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) facing blowback thanks to the expose on Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) was partially right, but we’ll have to see how the rest plays out.
We expect this to have pretty big ramifications, so let’s dive into the spoilers!
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For September 5: In their faces
We previously talked about how we think the article on Diane would go sideways and hurt Jabot and Marchetti, and we think that’ll be the first wave.
It’ll make their clients nervous and may cause a few to pull out or refuse to begin negotiating for future business.
It’ll affect the Abbotts and Newmans since Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) runs Marchetti. But more than that, ‘Young and the Restless’ think it’s going to create friction within the Newmans.
Phyllis was so sure Summer is anti-Diane that she never stopped to think about what could happen if Summer is starting to like Diane.
Since she arrived there, Diane’s been as close to a model citizen as possible, and while it looks like her goal is to win Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) back, there’s nothing wrong with that.
And in the end, when Jack comes to Diane’s defense and rips into them for not leaving Diane alone and ripping off the scab of old wounds, Summer will be right there with him.
One point of emphasis we expect to be made is the numerous second chances Phyllis and even Nikki have been given in life and it’ll be thrown in their faces pretty harshly.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For September 5: Kyle’s secret
This is an interesting one for us as it could be a couple of things like Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) taking Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor)’s former position to the article.
We think it’ll be about Adam and he’ll hold back telling her because Summer will probably see the expose on Diane and be caught between outrage at her mom and Nikki and doing damage control thanks to them.
