’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers indicate that, when Guillermo came to the US with fiancé Kara, he didn’t specify that he would be needing a laptop, but now on day 2 of his stay in the US he has informed Kara that he needs a laptop and that because of the stuff that he sold in the Dominican Republic, he has enough money to get it, so he should be allowed.
Granted, it is his money, and if Kara were independently wealthy then she probably wouldn’t have a problem with him spending $1K of his savings on a laptop. But the world is not perfect and for awhile, Guillermo can’t work and it’s all up to Kara to support both of them, while she is waiting on Guillermo’s work visa, she doesn’t want to get the laptop… but it does beg the question…
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: What kind of laptop in 2022 costs $1K?
That is 1997 prices. Usually one can get a pretty good laptop for around half that much money, or one can do the “payment plan” route and only pay so much down on one, there’s lots of options. (Although sometimes one needs good credit to get on those payment plans and right now we don’t know what kind of credit history either one has… ahem.)
The answer to this question might lie in the kind of laptop that Guillermo wants. If one is eyeing anything by apple, that probably will be $1K unless you get a refurbished one, and then they could be a few hundred less but they will not last very long. (I have an $800 paperweight that was a refurb, personally.)
There is also Alienware laptops, very expensive gaming machines that one often uses to game and stream which are custom built, those can run a pretty penny depending on what kind of specs one gets. But Guillermo really didn’t specify, he just said a laptop and Kara automatically assumed that it was 1/6th of their budget.
She just threw a number out there saying $1K, he didn’t tell her the brand or anything she just assumed that it would be that much money. Something tells me she really hasn’t looked at laptop prices lately, maybe she should. Stay tuned!!!
