There has been a lot of backlash over the lawsuit that Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, NeNe Leakes has filed against the team on the show. One of the newest Atlanta housewives, Marlo Hampton was asked about it and she told her fans, “You know, we’re going to leave that where it’s at. Just sending my sister some love and issues, and we’re gonna keep talking about me and my peach and how it’s time to shine, baby.”

There have been several reactions to the lawsuit and even one of Leakes’ closest friends, Kandi Burruss said, “I don’t think anything of it. I don’t have anything to say about it. Never! Absolutely no opinion.”

The lawsuit made headlines when Leakes claimed that she worked in a very racist work environment when she was on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She has claimed that she had to “discuss with executives racially offensive and stereotypical comments made by Kim Zolciak” and she was affected very negatively by it.
This lawsuit has been filed against NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, and Truly Original, as well as various executives and the Real Housewives producer, Andy Cohen. Even though Leakes claimed that Zolciak was also racist, she is not in the lawsuit, which is very interesting to us all. The lawsuit reads, “NBC, Bravo, and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated- if not, encouraged.”
When we look at the women both on social media, they look like they are still enjoying life as always. Leakes is still busy promoting events at the Linnethia Lounge in Duluth and Zolciak has been seen just living her best life and drinking margaritas at Chili’s.
Leakes was seen on the Real Housewives of Atlanta for seasons one through seven and then she took a break and came back to appear on seasons ten to twelve. Kim was another original member of the first season cast and she ended up quitting in the middle of the fifth season. She came back for a few episodes, just as a friend during season ten.
There has been a lot of support for Leakes, but there is a lot of backlash as well. Many cast members do not think that their work environment was ever as bad as she says, but we will just have to wait and see what happens with this lawsuit.
