Netflix announced that production for season three of the ‘The Witcher‘ began earlier this month, and revealed four new cast members who will be joining Geralt (Henry Cavill), Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) on their next adventure.
Meng’er Zhang (Shangi-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings), Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia Here We Go Again!), and Christelle Elwin (Bloods) are all lined up to join the cast in the upcoming season. However, perhaps one of the bigger names to join the cast is Robbie Amell (Upload), cousin of DC’s Arrow, Stephen Amell.

Amell will be playing an elven fighter named Gallatin, who leads an army of guerilla Scoia’tael fighting on behalf of Nilfgaard. Gallatin’s loyalty to his people ultimately leads him on a collision course with the elven sorceress Francesca (Mecia Simson) over power and control.
‘The Witcher‘ was renewed for a third season last fall, as well as two spinoff series, ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ as well as a new kid-friendly series. The logline for season three reads, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it.”
Amell and the others will prove to be excellent additions to the cast and we look forward to seeing the third season. While the second season had its faults and may not have measured up to the first season, we have high hopes for the third. With the addition of some more amazing characters and actors, there is a lot to be excited about!
