It’s been 13 years since Trisha Paytas played ‘Fat Jessica Simpson in an Eminem video, according to her Instagram. That was one of her claims to fame back in the day, along with a role on the show Modern Family that she had back when she was attempting to do acting full time and wasn’t just a social media star.
Arguably, it could be said that Trisha is still an actress, she just acts in her own productions 100% of the time, if you count youtube videos as productions, she’s been in literally hundreds.

But this was the days before social media, before youtube really took off, before Instagram, way before TikTok, this was back in the days of myspace where websites like model mayhem ruled cyberspace and you still had to go through a modicum of the old guard before you could enter anything Hollywood.
It’s Hard To Believe That Was 13 Years Ago
Things were different, for sure, No one actually knew who Trisha was, they just knew her by her role in that one music video, for a long time no one even made the connection that she and the role itself were synonymous she had to be the one to announce on her youtube channel in one of her videos that she had been the one that played that role.
This was back in the day when background actors were simply background actors and they often didn’t get a chance at their own careers, now with the advent of social media all you have to do is gain a following and you voila, insta-career! Trisha, it seems, was one of the pioneers of that.
No one actually started following her because of her acting career, although we certainly didn’t mind hearing the highlights (or the lowlights) of said career along the way, everyone started following Trisha because of her personality.
She seemed to be your sweet, typical dumb blonde, a combination of bombshell and TV Preacher’s wife (you who grew up in the 80’s will know exactly what we’re referring to) and even though she seemed to be a train wreck, there was something likable about her and you couldn’t help but want to follow her story.
