Neil Young’s Music STILL On Spotify Despite Saying He Would Take All His Music Off The Platform

Well, that was an empty threat, wasn’t it? It appears that some of Neil Young’s music has stayed on Spotify after he announced last month that he was removing it all from the platform because he didn’t want to be on the same platform that Joe Rogan was spreading ‘misinformation’ on.

Sure, his full catalog isn’t still there, but Wonderwall notes that Young’s music from “soundtracks and other events that featured him but were released by other entities” still exists on his page. I’m sure this doesn’t make old man Young happy.

Last month Young demanded his music be removed, stating Spotify “can have Rogan or Young. Not both.” Well, it didn’t take long before Young’s music started disappearing. There was little to no chance that Spotify was going to dump their cash cow that they spent the farm on.

In response to Young taking his music off, Spotify said they regretted Young leaving, “but hope to welcome him back soon.”

Young not only took himself, but rallied other artists in support. “When I left Spotify, I felt better,” the old rocker wrote on his website.

“Private companies have the right to choose what they profit from, just as I can choose not to have my music support a platform that disseminates harmful information,” he shared. “I am happy and proud to stand in solidarity with the front-line health care workers who risk their lives every day to help others.”

It must really chap his butt to know that some of this music is still up there.
