According to reports, Jay had been attempting to ram his car into the very car that Sarah was being driven in. He was subsequently taken into police custody after which he was charged with assault with the intention of using a deadly weapon.
But after having paid a bail bond of $10,000, he was released. It is not exactly clear why Jay had wanted to do this, but the very fact of the matter is that things are not all that well between the pair.
They still happen to be married, despite being separated after failing to work out their differences. With the divorce procedure having already begun, it is only a matter of time before it is finalised.
And this incident is only going to exacerbate those existing tensions between the pair. But after having been released, Jay did not seem to be expressing any remorse at all for his actions.
In fact, he decided to try and silence the hatred that was coming his way by simply stating that he wanted privacy for the sake of his family. Although he has no children with Sarah, he does have four children with his ex-wife Amy DiGiovanna.
And this saga is something that he wants to protect his children from. In an official statement after the event, he remarked: “[I want privacy] for the sake of my family and especially for our kids.
“Unfortunately, headlines and quick-to-publish news stories do not adequately capture the full context and complex fabric of our lives.”
The response on social media was not too kind towards Jay. A certain subset of people felt that he was looking for the easy way out rather than holding his hands up and saying that he had done something wrong.
In this way, his statement only ended up attracting more criticism towards his behaviour. One person wrote: “Nice Biblical quote after domestic felony assault. Charming.”
It is safe to say that Jay needs to clear up his act going forward, as on another given day, things could have been a whole lot worse.
