‘Sex and the City’ actress Cynthia Nixon has slammed the current Covid-19 regulations in place across schools in New York City.
‘Sex and the City’ Actress Cynthia Nixon Slams New York City Mayor Eric Adams Over Covid-19 Protocols-‘Every Morning Is Like The Squid Game’
The pandemic has resulted in a mishmash of rules that are inconsistently governing various states around the globe. Therefore, there is a clear disharmony between how one state acts in comparison to another.
As such, trying to get a handle over what parents should do is not exactly something that has been made clear.
And that has naturally resulted in people getting frustrated, none more so than Cynthia herself. In a post to her fans on Twitter, Cynthia did not hold back on her criticism.
She said: “School drop-off every morning is like the Squid Game — every day fewer & fewer people & whoever is left gets herded into the cafeteria to play Russian roulette over lunch.
“The many quarantining students & teachers today were joined by our principal himself who tested +.” But it was not only just the school that Cynthia had in the firing line.
In fact, she took things a step further by aiming her condemnation at the political figures governing the city. In particular, she singled out New York City Mayor Eric Adams on the grounds that he did not do enough to ensure an environment where children felt safe.
And as a way to encourage people to get behind her, Cynthia made sure that she would not be silenced.
She added: “THIS is what happens when you have a Mayor who thinks swagger can replace actual functioning Covid-safety protocols that keep schools up & running & teaching effectively.”
The response on social media was fully behind Cynthia. Large numbers of people expressed concern by virtue of the fact that this incident happened to be in one of the top public schools in the city.
Therefore, it was clear that more was needed to be done in order to alleviate the concerns of the parents. One person on Twitter wrote: “Thank you Cynthia for using your platform to share the truth of this matter.”
Time will tell whether Cynthia’s worries are acknowledged, or whether they will simply be brushed under the carpet. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
