Comedian Patton Oswalt folded to critics after he posted photos with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle on Instagram. We all understand the contempt that Chappelle has been under recently, but now it’s a crime to even associate with them it appears.
On January 1st, Oswalt shared multiple photos saying he had just finished a set and got a text from Chappelle. Oswalt went over to an arena to do a guest spot for Chappelle, saying he ended the year with a real friend and a deep laugh.

However, it wasn’t long before the hounds came. The next day Oswalt took to Instagram with a very long caption, explaining that he supports trans people and their rights. What? Oh yeah, remember, Dave Chappelle apparently hates trans people. So, even being near him, you automatically hate trans people. Does anyone actually believe this crap?
“We’ve done bad & good gigs, open mikes & TV tapings. But we also 100% disagree about transgender rights & representation. I support trans peoples’ rights — ANYONE’S rights — to live safely in the world as their fullest selves. For all the things he’s helped ME evolve on,” Oswalt continued, “I’ll always disagree with where he stands NOW on transgender issues. But I also don’t believe a seeker like him is done evolving, learning. You know someone that long, see the struggles and changes, it’s impossible to cut them off.”

While Patton had his fans soothe him, a majority of the comments called him out for making such a long apology for simply being with his friend.
