Outside a courtroom in LA County today, Matthew Rosengart, attorney for Britney Spears, addressed the press in regards to the ending of the 13 year long conservatorship that basically imprisoned Britney against her will.
He said that Britney Spears “shined a spotlight on” issues in conservatorships everywhere and that one of the issues will be the culpability of papparazzi in cases like this. He is going to lobby for better treatment of stars from the media, because according to Rosengart that played a part in what happened… and indeed it did.

At the time when the conservatorship was instated, Britney was a regular fixture in the headlines, and most of them at the time were not good, they continually painted her in a bad light and made it seem like Britney was some strung-out starlet who didn’t know what she was doing in life.
Sometimes we have to take into account that celebrity or not, people are still human, and they’re prone to making mistakes.
For the longest time, Britney’s name was dragged through the mud, Rosengart says that he’s going to present legislation before the state of California and even congress itself to change laws concerning how papparrazzi interact with the people that they photograph.
Since this was a court date subsequent to the big freedom hearing that happened on Nov. 12th, one reporter asked if things were all squared away concerning her finances and Rosengart said that Britney is now allowed to do whatever she wants, and that all of her financial documents are sealed and secured, so we’ll assume “all’s well that ends well” on that front.
That’s good to know because Britney’s going to need her millions in order to make that dream wedding happen, now that everything’s been secured it looks like that might happen sooner rather than later.
Someone asked him about Jamie Spears’ claim that there were statements being made against him to disgrace him as a conservator, to which Rosengart responded, “Jamie Spears is a disgrace. That’s a statement of fact.” we could not agree more. Stay tuned!!!
