Tiger Woods says the only lift he was able to do after getting in his car crash earlier this year was bench press. He claims he hit it hard as well, as he was able to put up 255 pounds, which is respectable. Especially for his weight at 185.

The superstar made this revelation to Golf Digest this week saying in the weeks after hurting his leg in the infamous wreck back in February, all he could do to stay fit was lay down on the bench and crush out some presses. Woods told them,

“I got to where I was doing like 250, 255.“

Woods only weighs about 185, so he’s benching over 100% of his body weight which is pretty dang good! Plus, he’s 45 years old. However, his bench has gone down now that he’s gotten healthier and is able to do more activities. So the bench has taken the back seat lately. Woods explained,

“Now that I’m doing other things — more functional stuff. I’ve gone away from benching.“

This is looking good for Tiger who is primed for a pro return. He’s maintained some muscle and built back from his wreck. Now that he’s able to incorporate all of his body groups, he should be back on the course in a pro showing soon!

Back in February, Woods was driving fast when he struck a curb, took out a sign, and drove into opposing lanes before hitting a tree and rolling over in Rolling Hills Estates just south of downtown Los Angeles. He broke bones in his right leg, but amazingly, it looks like he’s come back!

While he’s discussed that he’ll never play the PGA Tour “full-time”, he’ll still pick and choose which events he plays and some have pointed out he was already slowing down before his accident.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing Woods back out on the green again and do you think he’ll be as good as he was before? Let us know in the comments below.
