Tiger King Star, Carole Baskin will be returning to television screens, but not on the Tiger King sequel that will be dropping on Netflix in November.
Those of us who credit Tiger King for getting them through the first part of the pandemic are ardently looking forward to more murder, mayhem and madness (as so perfectly encapsulated on the Netflix hit’s taglines) should not expect to see Carole Baskin, her (still living) husband,
Howard Baskin or their not-for-profit Big Cat Rescue. For that they will have to change the channel to Discovery+ to tune into Baskin’s upcoming two-part documentary, Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight.
Tiger King Star, Carole Baskin Gets Her Own Television Show
Going on record to say Tiger King was “disappointing, salacious and sensational” the animal activist has also ripped the Netflix documentary apart for its unrealistic and untrue depiction of her and her big cat sanctuary.
Now Baskin will not only star in, but has an executive producer credit on Discovery +’s Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight.
The doco follows the Baskins as they investigate the G.W. Zoo in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Carole was awarded the zoo, formerly owned by Tiger King’s biggest break out star, Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, after Exotic was sent to prison for both animal abuse and hiring a hitman to murder Baskin.
Baskin describes her new two-part documentary by saying, “This is a unique opportunity for audiences to come behind the scenes with us for an unfiltered look at how we expose the cub-petting exploiters and roadside zoos we feel are mistreating animals. This is our real-life work within a dangerous world, and viewers will see it comes with our people being threatened, guns pointed at us and the bad guys shooting at our drones.”
Last April, only a month after allegedly suffering a stroke, Jeff Lowe (considered to be the real villain of Tiger King, though he never attempted to murder anyone…or feed any body parts to a tiger) got into a physical altercation with the neighbors of his Thackerville, Oklahoma zoo after the Baskins and a camera crew set up in on their property and flew drones across Lowe’s zoo.
A month after that, 68 exotic cats were seized and removed from the zoo. It seems safe to say this footage will make it into Discovery +’s Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight.
So all you cool cats and kittens, no matter which team you were on, it seems there will be two presents in time for the holidays this year!
Carole Baskin‘s Cage Fight airs on Discovery + starting November 13 and Tiger King 2 drops on Netflix on November 17.
