’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers show that Sumit Singh decides to stand up to his parents regarding fiance Jenny Slatten. He showed up at a family event where they were celebrating sister-in-law Shree’s pregnancy by brother Ahmit, where he announced that he was mostly there to support his brother and their new family, but he wanted to announce to them that he is now engaged to Jenny and that he would like to include her in future family events.

He feels bad that he gets to come and hang out with family and Jenny has to stay behind in their apartment all alone.

’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Is that a spine, Sumit?

If he was thinking that sister-in-law Shree would back him up, then nope, she’s firmly eating out of his parents hand. When he announced his engagement to Jenny she piped up and said that the move shouldn’t be made without the parents okay.

Sumit said that that’s what he tried to do and we literally saw what happened last season, there was a big fight where no one won, and it ended up with Sumit cancelling the ring ceremony, but he literally ended up giving her an engagement ring anyway, so… did that matter in the end?

Sumit’s Dad said that they were not in a position where they could accept Jenny and said that people call them all the time and tell them that their son is doing wrong. Finally, Sumit echoed the sentiment than 99% of the fandom has been saying all along, “Let them!” finally!

They seemed to imply that they were afraid of what their neighbors would think and that if they accepted Jenny that their neighbors in turn would not accept them and that they couldn’t call them to come help them anymore.

What a strange dynamic these peoople have to the United States, actually, it seems that they are forever stuck in a 1950’s mentality where neighbor helping neighbor wasn’t such a strange thing.

Sumit’s made some strides since the last conversation though, this time when his Mom got up after learning that he and Jenny were engaged, Sumit didn’t cling to her, nor did he go after her, he let her go.

I’m just glad there was nothing around that she could harm herself with – after all, she made some pretty bad threats the last time. Still, it looks like Sumit may be slowly winning this one. We’ll see. Stay tuned!!!
