Brentt Leakes, who is the son of the late Gregg Leakes, has spoken out following the death of his father.

Gregg, for his part, died after failing to overcome his battle with colon cancer when he was diagnosed in 2018. He left behind his wife Nene Leakes, who was best known for being on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as well as his son.
While Nene has been posting about the good memories she had with Gregg, Brentt has taken a different approach to it all. In fact, he was left feeling frustrated at how life could be so cruel.
In a post to his fans on Instagram, he shared a picture of a blue baseball cap. On the cap, he had written the following words, ‘cancer sucks.’
The post was captioned with the following comments: “Come celebrate my dad’s life tonight. Ima be there, and ima probably cry. CASAMIGOS on me.” Despite the clear pain that Brentt was feeling, he did find some positives amid the heartbreak. He urged his fans to honour and cherish those close to home by making the most of the time they have together.
And given that we are living through a pandemic too, it is not always known when a loved one could die. In a prior social media post, he remarked: “Spend time with your loved ones every chance you get. Time is so … valuable, dog. I can’t express it. I’m learning the hard way watching my dad fight every day. Please go create memories with ya people.”
But Brentt was not the only person that had to say a few words. The staff at Nene’s nightclub were also on hand to make sure that they made their feelings known. Following the announcement of the news, they shared a video on their social media showing a tribute that was being done for Gregg via a sketch through some chalk and a board.
The post was captioned by the following words: “We have Charlie, she’s an employee here at the Linnethia Lounge, and she’s, like, drawing a tribute to Gregg on the board for tonight. Yeah, this is how we do it at the Linnethia. We really celebrate our own, you know?”
