On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, we met Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio last season. The couple is the first same-sex male couple in franchise history. They went through a lot to get where they are and now they will appear on the new season of the show.
The couple is now married and still living in Mexico. It has been hard on them in Mexico because the area where they live isn’t very accepting of the gay lifestyle. Armando’s parents are still on the fence about his marriage to Kenny, but these two couldn’t be more in love with one another.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way – Love During Quarantine
When the pandemic hit Mexico, it was tough on Armando and Kenny. As newlyweds, they didn’t expect for their first year together to be one where they couldn’t leave the house. As we all have seen over the past two years, things are tough during a pandemic, but it looks like these two are more in love than ever.
They feel that the quarantine has helped their relationship and made it stronger. Kenny told fans, “I always say this, I say if we can make it through quarantine, the pandemic, and plan a wedding, we were meant to be.”
Armando then added, “We had a long-distance relationship, for so many years we wanted to be together, to come together, so when finally Kenny came the other way and came to Mexico, it allowed us to get to know each other much more than just being on the phone for years. We had been long-distance for about three or four years, so quarantine kind of made our friendship, our relationship, much strong. We got to know each other even more and we came out more in love.”
They have opened up to one another more and they really do feel that things have been great for them since the pandemic began.
When they were asked more about his family, Armando told fans, “They are still learning and trying to embrace us and accept us and see what we’re all about and obviously, through our life and just daily living I’ve tried to slowly show them how we’re just in love and that’s all it is. Again, it’s still a work in progress but I do have faith for the future.”
We are excited to see more of Kenny and Armando. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs on TLC on August 29 at 8 p.m. EST.
