Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to give Prince George the privacy he needs by also giving the public what they expect, and that’s charming photos of the royal family’s youngest members from time to time.
Even though there were earlier reports suggesting that the Duke and Duchess were not going to share a portrait of the young boy for his 8thbirthday, they went ahead and released one anyway, prompting many to suggest that they are balancing their family’s private and public needs in an “exemplary” way.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says that Prince William and Kate Middleton made the right decision of sharing young George’s birthday photo, which is something they normally do for each one of their children to help mark the occasion.

Noting Prince George’s birthday plans, Fitzwilliams says, “I’m sure he will be in touch with other members of the royal family, including the Queen, in Zoom, or in person. He reflected the nations mood so well as Wembley & is becoming wonderfully photogenic.”
He added, “William and Catherine are balancing some charming photographs and videos which feature him with the privacy he needs. Their handling of this is exemplary.”
Yet, royal expert Robert Jobson says that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking to keep the young boy out of the spotlight for some time to come, seeing how he was bullied during the Euro 2020 finals for wearing a suit and tie.
He told Australian television show Sunrise, “Some were critical about him wearing a shirt and tie like his dad which I thought was very harsh. He has been very popular but I think they are going to try and keep him out of the limelight a little bit. [William and Kate] are very conscious of that.”
