The Masked Singer spoilers reveal another season is in the books. This season, there was a diverse mix of artists, going by the listing of performers and songs. However, ‘90s music fans likely got nostalgic with this season’s winner, not to mention the runner-up. Let’s take a look at Piglet’s performances and how he and the runner-up held their own against previous winner LeAnn Rimes.

FOX ‘The Masked Singer’ Spoilers: Good choices

First, we have to say Piglet made some good choices. The Masked Singer spoilers indicate he chose songs from the country world, soul, pop, and more. We personally loved seeing him pick things up a bit with the uptempo choices “The Pretender” and “Good to be Alive (Hallelujah)”.

They showed a range to his voice that we think was important, given his other choices. Most were ballads this singer is mostly known for. Of course, he also showed some serious power when he did an opera-style intro to the soul classic, “Superstition”.

These ballads, in fact, had fans immediately picking up on who was behind that costume. While we’re also getting the benefit of hindsight, we can definitely see where that voice is unmistakable. Especially if you were a big teen pop/boy band fans. So, who was he?

FOX ‘The Masked Singer’ Spoilers: The reveal

The man behind the mask was nonother than Nick Lachey. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, he was the main singer for 98 Degrees.  They had a number of hits back in the late ‘90s before Lachey ended up doing a sold record, including “One Night (Una Noche)”, which is one of our personal favorites. Despite Lachey doing some solo work, the group was still performing together as recently as 2020.

He’s of course, also known for his reality tv resume, starting with Newlyweds, the show he co-starred on with ex-wife Jessica Simpson. Since then, he’s done a lot of hosting work, a Dancing with the Stars stint, as well as having a Netflix show with wife Vanessa Lachey.

FOX ‘The Masked Singer’ Spoilers: Holding their own

After being unmasked, Lachey spoke about missing performing and how weird the Masked Singer ride has been. Before that, however, he had to perform one more time. This performance was with Season 4 winner LeAnn Rimes, as well as runner-up JoJo and rapper Wiz Khalifa.

They sang Rimes’ hit, “How Do I Live,” and we are torn. After listening to the performance, we almost wish JoJo could have won this thing, but both were equally good. Congrats to Nick Lachey on his win, and we’ll hopefully see him releasing some new music soon.
