I’m not crying, you’re crying. The moment that we’ve all been waiting for – which was unfortunately delayed by another year because of the Covid-19 pandemic – is finally here. HBO Max has announced their premiere date for the Friends reunion special.
The streaming service also dropped its first teaser trailer and announced a list of guest stars for the special, too. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, the much-anticipated special, Friends: The Reunion, will air on May 27th, which happens to be HBO Max’s one-year anniversary of their network launch. Too.

There’s also a 40-second teaser of the stars slowly walk away from the camera to a slowed-down version of the theme song before fading to a card reading, “The One Where They Get Back Together.” The new episode was shot on the comedy’s original Burbank Warner Bros. Studio lot soundstage, Stage 24
The stars of the NBC sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons, will return to the show’s original soundstage on the Warner Bros. lot “for a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show,” according to HBO Max.
All six members of the original cast – Matthew Perry (Chandler), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), Matt LeBlanc (Joey) and David Schwimmer (Ross) – are set to take part.
Supporting stars including Maggie Wheeler (Janice), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Reese Witherspoon (Jill) and Tom Selleck (Richard), as well as Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles, who played Ross and Monica’s parents, Jack and Judy, will also take part in the reunion series.
Celebrity guests – which include David Beckham, Lady Gaga, BTS, Cara Delevingne, Mindy Kaling, James Corden, Malala Yousafzai and Justin Bieber – will also appear during the reunion special.
Friends, which debuted in 1994 and followed the misadventures of singles living in New York City, is one of the most popular and beloved sitcoms in TV history.
