Talk about living your worst nightmare. While there are some people out there who would do anything to get on a reality television show, this guy was dying to get off of it. There’s a new report that says a Russian man by the name of Vladislav Ivanov was trapped in a Chinese reality television show for three months. And by trapped we mean that he was desperately trying to get booted off the show so he could go home, but his television audience refused to let him go. Here’s what you need to know.
After being held on a Chinese boy band competition show, Vlad is thankfully a free man again. He made it all the way to the final of Produce Camp 2021 – a talent show that eliminates hundreds of male singers to a final 11 which go on to form a boyband. Now, what kind of boy band, no one knows.
Apparently, he was forced to live on a secluded island for three months, constantly practicing and performing with limited access to his phone, which sounds like another nightmare within itself. When Vlad was finally eliminated from the show, the first thing he did was take to his social media accounts to express just how incredibly happy he was to no longer be on television.
This Russian Man Has Been Trapped In A Chinese Reality Show For 3 Months
“Thank y’all for your support,” the 27-year-old wrote on the Chinese social media platform Weibo Saturday. He was thanking fans of the reality series for voting him out of the singing contest.
“I am finally clocking out,” he said.
Vlad apparently begged the audience to take him out of the running, as he simply couldn’t take it anymore. He even cried for help at one point.
The reality show, called both Produce Camp 2021 and Chuang 2021 — puts 90 male-icon wannabes against each other for a coveted slot in an international boy band. But Vlad felt like he needed to run away from this nightmare more than follow his dream.
“Becoming a member of a boy band is not my dream, as I can’t sing and dance,” Ivanov pleaded during his regrettable stint on the show. “I hope the judges won’t support me. While the others want to get an ‘A,’ I want to get an ‘F,’ as it stands for freedom.”
