NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal we weren’t huge fans of Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) early on. We started watching about the time she was trying to make Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) think she was losing her mind in  revenge for her part in sending Gabi to prison. Let’s take a look at why she rubbed us wrong, and why we’re loving the evolution her character has gone through.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Reckless

First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal our main problem was Gabi was she didn’t stop to think before she acted. She reacted. Granted, she had every right to hate Abigail, especially after learning she can’t have kids anymore, thanks to her time in Statesville. Here’s the problem.

In the process of getting revenge, she was also hurting Will Horton (Chandler Massey), someone she claimed to love and was her good friend. Plus, a big part of Gabi’s beef was that she lost time with her daughter.

So, we couldn’t stand the hypocrisy of letting Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) think his baby was Stefan DiMera’s (Tyler Christopher). Even worse, she was willing to let that baby get into the hands of a man she thought a monster, even if it was only for a little while.  Then, things changed.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Turning point

The thing with Gabi is, she has been too stubborn in wanting revenge. No matter how many times something has blown up in her face, she was ready for more. Especially once Stefan (Brandon Barash) died.

However, having her plot to steal Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) blow up in her face and end up arrested for trying to kill Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) seemed to change something in her.

In recent weeks, Abigail has pulled Gabi into her own revenge plot. However, when it came time for Abigail to actually inject Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) with that drug, Gabi wouldn’t let it happen.

On more than one occasion now, she’s been the voice of reason in the Gabi/Abigail duo. She’s the one preaching letting things go instead of pushing the revenge envelope.

Gabi even implored Abigail to count her blessings and think of her kids instead of her anger. How things change, right? And we’re loving that evolution. However, we’re not expecting Gabi to change that much.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The more things change…

As mature as Gabi seems now, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal there’s still some of that Gabi feist and mischievousness. Her smile when she heard Jake Lambert (Barash) and Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) were through was a clear sign there’s still plenty of the old Gabi in there.

Just look at her argument with Jake Monday. It was reminiscent of the way she’d fight with Stefan, and we think we all know where this is going. We’re looking forward to seeing how they balance what makes Gabi her, while also letting her grow up some.
