Camilla Parker Bowles has honoured Prince Philip by continuing his tradition of reading, as part of her Booktrust initiative.

In a post to her fans on Instagram, she let everyone know how Philip had a passion for reading. In the picture, we can see a variety of books scattered across the table. The post was captioned by the following comments: “As Patron of BookTrust… I would like to dedicate the next series of my Reading Room to him, in memory of a great fellow reader.” Camilla has not hidden her love for reading too.
She made it known that it was something crucial in a child’s development. She has extended this enthusiasm towards the wider family too. After all, there are plenty of children who could benefit in the Royal family. Camilla has a mammoth nine grandchildren, the most prominent ones being: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Archie.
And by the looks of it, she has made a start with them already. In a prior Instagram post, she revealed: “I read to my children, and now I read to my grandchildren. I love it. I read to them when they were absolutely tiny. And they’ve got older and older and older, and now they actually read to me!”
Given that Prince Harry and the Royal family seem to have reconciled, or at the very least improve their relationship, Camilla has the opportunity to pass on her passion for books to Archie. While he was not present for the funeral, there is no doubt that Camilla will have had the chance to approach Harry. This seems to be the best way to honour Philip.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward confirmed as much: “I think, in a way, Prince Philip is proud of his son Prince Charles, in a way that he wasn’t before. And he sees that all the things that he taught Prince Charles. He taught Prince Charles, who in turn taught Prince William, who in turn is teaching Prince George.” Camilla and the Royals certainly have their stories to tell.
