British Royal Family News show that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie will not be granted any Royal title, according to reports. The decision, though, is due to the rules governing the Royals and not anything personal.
British Royal Family News: Is Archie Entitled To A Royal Title
Royal expert Craig Prescott told Us Weekly that Archie’s prospects are unlikely unless there was an intervention. He said: “The second concern Meghan has is that when Charles becomes king, Archie will become a prince, but it’s essentially up to the Monarch who gets royal titles and who doesn’t. And it’s open to the Monarch to change the rules so that Archie doesn’t become a prince.”
Meghan, for her part, would not want her son to get exposed to the troubles that she and Harry have been going through. But it is not as simple as that. If Archie were not to be given a title, then he would not be entitled to any private security. And by being a son of ‘Royalty’, he could become a target for anti-royal fervour.
In Meghan’s interview with CBS, she said: “It was really hard. This went on for the last few months of our pregnancy where I’m going, ‘Hold on a second. How does that work? If he’s not gonna be a prince, he needs to be safe.” And yet, the lack of security was shrouded by accusations of racism. Meghan hinted that the lack of a title could be due to concerns that the Royals were worried about Archie’s skin colour.
In response, Prince William denied that the family had held these views. He told Sky News: “I haven’t spoken to [Harry] yet, but I will. We’re very much not a racist family.” Although the Royals have denied that they are racist, Meghan did indeed confirm that such conversations had taken place, much to the horror of everyone involved. She revealed: “[They were worried about] how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” It is sad to see that Archie and his nephew Prince George will be growing apart. With both William and Harry not on good terms, the prospects of their children following the same path look to be increasing by the day.
