British Royal Family News find that a lot of royal fans can’t help but wonder if skin color and privilege might have something to do with Kate Middleton being protected by the royal family as she is, while Meghan Markle was forced to either stay quiet or defend herself over all of the false allegations that were made against her during her short time with the royal family. Here’s what you need to know.
During her bombshell interview with Oprah, Meghan made it pretty clear that the royal family did more to protect Kate Middleton – even from the slightest of accusations – than anything they did for her.
The Duchess of Sussex said that she wanted the royals to correct or negate some of the false stories about her and Kate’s supposed feud in the tabloids, but they didn’t.

“They really seem to want a narrative of a hero and a villain,” Meghan said. “She’s a good person. So much of what I have seen play out is this idea of polarity where if you love me, you don’t have to hate her. And if you love her, you don’t need to hate me.
This, of course has led a lot of royal critics to believe that racism or privilege might be at play her. In fact, both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in their interview that racism is what drove them out of the UK, as there were even conversations and ‘concerns’ with senior members of the royal family over how dark their son Archie’s skin color would be.
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both royal fans and critics alike to comment on what Meghan Markle had said during the interview.
Some took to their social media accounts to write, “Meghan made the right call. Present the truth, no more protecting their racist selves. But making a broader point about problematic media narratives wanting her to be the villain to Kate’s hero,” along with, “She played it well. She isn’t granted the allowance to trash Kate and it’s not her MO. But she let’s it be clear that the institution was ALLOWED to run with the fake story. And by what Meghan chose to reveal and not to reveal, we know Kate did nothing to stop it which was hurtful.”
Another critic wrote, “At the end of the day, Kate is a White Feminist who only believes in her own empowerment. Believe she’s a good person all you want but she’s not an ally and she has only ever used her power to better herself at the expense Of others. I think Meghan was extremely generous here but I’m not going to forget Flybe or the Commonwealth service or the Middleton family trashing of Meghan or the weird lack of acknowledgement of Archie from the Cambridges.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not issued any statements over the claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Makle in their interview. Stay tuned.
