Several friends of Meghan Markle have come out in defence of her despite allegations that she had bullied two former personal assistants during her time in the Royal family.
British Royal Family News: Meghan Markle’s Friends Rally Around Her Amid Scandal
According to sources, the friends believe this is a power play from the Royals in an attempt to counter Meghan and Prince Harry’s upcoming media tour in which they promise to reveal all. A source said: “Friends believe this scandal is to] strike back at Harry and Meghan for doing the interview. The palace knows that they will not be cast in the best light by Harry and Meghan on Sunday and doesn’t want Harry and Meghan coming off as victims.”
This was given further credence as some of those friends have come clean. Although they chose to remain anonymous, their words were very telling. One friend commented on how the whole incident has been blown out of proportion: “I hate to say it but find me a woman of colour in a senior position who has not been accused of being too angry, too scary, too whatever in the workplace. It’s sad that it’s happening, but I’m not surprised. These claims are so far from the woman I know.”
In the same manner, another friend was in disbelief that Meghan could be capable of such behaviour: “[I have] never known [Meghan] to be anything but kind and considerate to her friends and colleagues. I know that Meg would feel awful if she knew that someone felt that way about working with her, but I also know that no one ever approached her about anything like this at all during that time.”
The story has been very distressing for the couple, given that the two former personal assistants were in charge of ferrying the them around. And given that there was no mention of this at the time, the timing of this does seem to be very strange indeed. It also does not help in mending Meghan’s relationship with the Royals, given she has been so outspoken on the impact of press intrusion.
