Kody Brown has revealed that he is trying to work things out with his wife, Meri Brown, irrespective of their polygamous marriage issues.

During an interview with Us Weekly, Kody spoke on how they were working on practical solutions. He said: “Meri and I have been in a very dark place for a very long time. It’s been more about trying to get ourselves out of this hole that we dug ourselves into.” A divorce could be pursued, but Kody has stressed that it is unlikely due to the various parties that are involved. After all, how would finances work and who would be entitled to which part?
Kody is an ardent believer of polygamy and currently has four wives. This would explain why he is facing some difficulties, with communication being a particular problem. He added: “I hope that some communication heals things. It’s been a long time, and it’s been very difficult. In plural marriage, I don’t feel like I’ve got the right to say, ‘This is over, this is ending.
“I have dominion over my own body and where I’m at, but I’m not in a place where, like, I can say, ‘Hey, I’m divorcing you.’ I can’t do that.” He has come under fire for the way in which he conducts his personal life. Nevertheless, Kody has always stressed that if anyone were to be unhappy, then they could always walk away. He has maintained that he respects individual autonomy.
He continued: “I feel like they need to understand that — that they can leave. If it’s not working for them, they can leave. Nobody’s going to be a prisoner here.” And yet, Kody and Meri share a daughter together, which has further complicated things. So how has Meri fared with it all? Well, she has stressed that her position has always been clear and that Kody knows exactly where she stands. In a previous interview with Us Weekly, she said: “I feel like I’ve made it known to him enough where I want the relationship to go, as far as just moving forward. It’s best to leave the ball in his court.”Â
