‘Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) has had a radical change of opinion on cheating in the last month. Remember, when she was with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), she was heartbroken about cheating on him with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and felt so guilty she had to tell him.
Viewers will argue it’s because she truly loved him and felt like she had to tell him otherwise she would live with the guilt the rest of their lives.
‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Elena’s Change Of Heart On The Issue Of Cheating
I understand where people are coming from, but to go from that kind of emotional response to just be laying in bed on a romantic getaway after cheating on your boyfriend a few days before and accidentally saying Devon is such a dramatic change that it’s hard to understand.
I know this probably means that she doesn’t truly love Nate and she’s just using him as a way to get over Devon, but we’ve heard them talk about it before and how they always carried feelings for each other… so why the sudden change in her opinion on cheating?
Shouldn’t she be a blubbering mess right now telling Nate how she cheated on him with Devon? It seems like too drastic of a change for a character to go through in a month, and it bothers me that Elena has suddenly lost her care for cheating.
Is this just the start of a darker, more manipulative Elena, or could it just be poor writing and not being able to keep everyone’s opinions and emotions the same? I don’t know, but whatever it is, it bothers me. You may have a different opinion, so as always, let us know below.
