Netflix’s ‘The Last Paradiso’ tells the story of Ciccio Paradiso (Riccardo Scamarcio) as he works away under a tyrannical mayor who pockets the money of the town’s labor and does nothing. However, things take a sharp turn when the Mayor, Schettino finds out that Ciccio has been sneaking around with his daughter, Bianca.

Tensions come to a rise as Ciccio decides to go head to head with Schettino and wage war against the unfair treatment of the workers and so he and Bianca can live happily. Take a look at the trailer below that was uploaded with the following description,

“In 1950s Italy, a passionate free spirit dreams of love, justice and a better life till a forbidden affair threatens everything. Based on real events. The story of an impossible love, a dream of an indomitable man who has a sense of rebellion and justice coursing through his veins. The Last Paradiso starring Riccardo Scamarcio arrives on Netflix on February 5th.”

Viewers commented on the trailer, “He looks like a young Javier Bardem”, “Sometimes silence is more powerful than words.”, “This be the best one 🙂 Like if ur waiting for it”, “Check him out in The Ruthless ! Very good” and “Look nice”.

While not much more is known about this and their IMDb page is pretty bare, this looks like it could definitely be worth a watch. If you’re at all interested you only need to wait a few weeks before release. ‘The Last Paradiso’ is sure to tell an exciting story and Riccardo Scamarcio is fantastic. American viewers may notice him from ‘John Wick 2’ where he betrays Keanu Reeve’s John Wick and it costs him his life.

Netflix’s ‘The Last Paradiso’ releases next month, on February 5th.
