When we first met Thais Ramone when she came to the US to be with her fiancé, Patrick Mendes, we were given the impression that she, just like Jasmine on B90 before her, was just one of those “controlling latina” women who liked to track her man’s whereabouts and was extremely crazy jealous.
Well, where there’s smoke, there’s fire because we found out on the last episode of 90 day fiancé that Patrick, in between the time that he met Thais and that she actually came to the U.S., he hooked up with another girl. He said that they just kissed, or, essentially, just made out at a party that his brother threw and that ever since then, Thais has not trusted him and has put a tracker on his phone.

He has told her that he’s taking off the tracker, but that caused Thais to remind him of why she doesn’t think that she can trust him. Unlike Jasmine, she didn’t lose her cool completely and there was no screaming and throwing things, did she get loud? Yes.
Was she emphatic? Yes. But there was no huge meltdown, no crying, no screaming, but then again we have to give it time. Thais says that when she was a young girl, her Dad, even though he was an incredible person, cheated on her Mom a lot and that is why she is suspicious of not just Patrick, but men in general.
Patrick’s brother John isn’t helping things, in fact, he’s kind of enabling him by urging him to take the tracker off his phone. It just seems like John wants things to go back to the way things used to be between him and his brother and he doesn’t want Thais to say anything about it.
But… when you have a spouse, things are never the same between you and your siblings, because the spouses’ needs are meant to come first before any siblings you might have. They are direct next of kin, even legally. John seems to think that Thais will be content to play second fiddle to whatever agenda he has, but Thais is not down for that.
As far as Thais being too controlling, the tracker thing really should be a matter that is between her and Patrick, not between her, Patrick, and John, or anyone else for that matter. It’s a little sad to see that Patrick thought the only way to defend his position was to call every woman in the room besides Thais “ugly” though… that’s not entirely fair, Patrick. Yike.
